Last night was the 2nd meetup of the Edinburgh Allegro league.
We scored 5.5/8 in October, which meant we were sitting pretty in joint 4th. And, with Bryan back from South Korea, we were hoping to build on that.
Iain stepped aside to make room for Bryan. So the lineup was: Bryan, Steve, Ronnie and Jamie.
Unfortunately…
The first match was a disaster – a 4-0 shellacking at the hands of Edinburgh 2.
But we bounced back against Badgers Brook. A quick win for Ronnie. Steve’s opponent dropped a rook. And Jamie converted a nice endgame. So a 3-1 win.
That means we’ll go into December’s meeting with a slight plus score: 8.5/16.
